Why I created this website
Hi, I am CJ and a software engineer, entrepreneur, and an avid biking enthusiast.
I would give you a million reasons why I created this website, but all of them narrow down to one thing: passion.
Because I have lived in suburban and urban areas throughout my life, I can say that biking favors all environments–it just depends on what type you want to fit your lifestyle. Having owned various types of bikes like BMX, mountain, hybrid, and cruiser bikes, I have discovered quite a lot that I would love to share with fellow beginner bikers who want to get into the sport.
Even after getting my driver license and experiencing the extensive freedom that cars offer, my favorite mode of transportation is still biking. Since I was little, my favorite activity after school or on the weekends was taking my bike out for a spin. The thrill of adventure and even the oddly satisfying morning-after leg aches were what drove me to start biking even as my daily work commute today!
Now that I live in the city, many of my friends and colleagues have asked me what kind of bike they should get given their life habits. Do they just want a speedy bike for a simple city commute, or do they also want one that can survive the rough mountain trails?
The biggest fear that aspiring bikers have is buying a used bike from a fraudulent or immoral source or investing a hefty sum in a bike that just wasn’t practical for their day-to-day lifestyle.
My goal with this website is to offer some real, human advice from a lifetime biking enthusiast to anyone who is in the market for buying a bike. With technology so advanced today, more bikes–like electric “e-bikes”–are rising in popularity, and the best you can do for yourself is to stay informed. I will make sure that what you find on this site is detailed but not overly technical so you know just enough to get started on your biking journey. In addition to providing information about the different types of bikes out there, I will also break down each bike category by a budget range and even highlight a few popular models of each bike category. This will not only enable you to know which bike will suit your needs but also know whether you can afford it or not.
